The Budapest police headquarters said on its website on Thursday evening that she had been apprehended and interviewed as a suspect but was not kept in custody.
Earlier on Thursday, the Szeged district prosecutor launched an investigation into the case of the camerawoman. The prosecution had received complaints that the woman working for the online N1 television channel at the site of the Roszke border collection point had been physically belligerent with several migrants, among them children, Sandor Toro, the deputy chief prosecutor of Csongrad county, told MTI on Thursday.
The opposition Democratic Coalition (DK) and Dialogue for Hungary (PM) parties filed criminal complaints against the woman. N1TV, which is affiliated to the radical nationalist Jobbik party, said she had been fired and the company considers “the case closed”.
