Police uncover grenade, firearms, ammunition in C Hungary locality
Budapest, November 16 (MTI) – Police have uncovered illicit firearms, ammunition and a grenade after searching a house in a locality of Jászbereny, in central Hungary.
Police in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County said on Wednesday that the grenade was Russian-made, and several hundred rounds of ammunition were found together with various firearms.
The suspect detained in the case, a 62-year-old male known as László NV, has been charged with abuse of explosives and firearms, police spokeswoman Gabriella Vadász said in a statement.
In a so-far unrelated case in late October, a Hungarian policeman was shot dead with a machine gun early while police were preparing to conduct a house search in the village of Bőny, in north-western Hungary.
