POLL – Among “potential voters”: Fidesz, Jobbik, Socialists
Budapest, January 27 (MTI) – The Socialist Party has made up ground and overtaken Jobbik party in terms of overall support, albeit the party’s lead is within the margin of error in a new poll released by the Nezopont Institute on Wednesday.
The ruling Fidesz-Christian-Democrat alliance has maintained its lead among Nezopont’s entire sample, capturing 32 percent. Support for the governing alliance continues to be higher than the combined support for opposition parties, the phone poll of 1,000 voting-age adults conducted in mid-January found.
The Socialist Party slotted into second place with 11 percent while Jobbik remained at 10 percent. The leftist Democratic Coalition (DK) stood at 5 percent among the entire sample, while small opposition parties Egyutt and Dialogue for Hungary (PM) captured 1 percent each. Green LMP maintained its support of 3 percent.
Among “potential voters”, Fidesz-KDNP had 44 percent support, Jobbik 23 percent, the Socialists 15 percent and DK 7 percent, LMP 5 percent, Együtt 2 percent while PM had 1 percent.
