Prosecutor’s office presses charges against Hungarian National Front
The Budapest Chief Prosecutor’s Office has indicted eight members of the organisation Hungarian National Front (MNA) on charges of possession and illegal purchase of firearms and on plotting racially motivated crimes, the office said in a statement on Monday.
At raids at the homes of members of the group, police have seized over thirty firearms, ammunition and 1 kg of explosives, the statement said.
Members of the group have also published articles enticing to violence against Jews and migrants on the organisation’s web site, it said, and held camps including “ideological training” for members.
MNA founder István Györkös was arrested last year on charges of murder, after he fired shots at the police force raiding his house in Bőny, western Hungary. A policeman, Péter Pálvölgyi, died in the attack.
