Respectable husband or successful porn star? A hungarian father does both

Attila Csáky is a loving, caring husband and father, well respected among the parent community where his children go to school. He has learnt many valuable lessons since his early twenties but has an adventurous past – in the 1990’s he was one of the most successful Hungarian porn stars.

There is nothing out of the ordinary in the Csáky family house, at least not until you notice the porn-Oscars next to the children’s drawings and plasticine figures. The mixing of such distant areas of life portrays how well Attila is handling his past by accepting it. According to Heti Világgazdaság, Attila used to star in, and direct adult films (still directs), but has come a long way: he has three children now, is an important member of the parents’ board at his kids’ school and has a supportive wife.

The father reveals that he hopes his eldest son, aged 14, has not yet looked up his name on the internet, as he would like to unmask this secret himself.

‘It seemed like a good idea’

How did this all come together? One might think that a porn star will never live a ‘normal’ life with a spouse and children, and will be forever branded if successful. Choky Ice’s career started right after the fall of Communism in Hungary. He recalls that pornography was an entirely different concept at that time, it had its golden era before the internet. Thanks to the regime change, the Central-European stars suddenly became the wards of the most popular producers from the West.

30 years ago, when Attila was a teenager, accessing porn did not go smoothly, the best you could get were some magazines or calendars. Despite this, he was captivated by the industry, his main motivation being his love for sex, for the female body. “When you are young, trying to find the place where you fit in, it might seem a good idea to take up porn” – he reminisces. It did not take long for him to start working with the most acclaimed producers, and under their wings, he managed to win several prestigious awards. Through this success, he was able to travel across the globe.

“I got off work, I got paid, went home and carried on with my life. I went to parties, had a girlfriend, roamed the cities on my bike, built friendships. I was lucky enough to have been surrounded by wonderful people. However, I never liked those huge porn parties that people tell legends about.

I had a life of my own and clear plans, and although pornography had an essential part in it, I never wanted to belong to them”

– Attila told Heti Világgazdaság.

Husband, father, porn star

Attila had a golden rule: he made it clear at the beginning of each and every relationship that he does porn for a living and that he is not going to give it up – “I had my job long before particular relationships”. This, however, was unsettling for some of his past partners. Still, eventually, he found the One. His wife, Andrea, is a piano player; they have been together for nine years now and have a happy family with three children. Even though they have their ups and down, Andrea is proud of his husband’s accomplishments, even when they are out, and someone recognises him, asking for an autograph.

Attila mentions that the parents of his kids’ friends are well aware of what he does for a living, but this has never been a problem, they have never encountered a parent saying to their kid that “you cannot go over to the Csáky family”. He goes on:

“A priest’s kid was over once, and you might think that he will immediately resent me, but no. I have never been looked down because of my job.

I say, get to know each other. If you have learnt enough about the other person and your opinion has changed to the better, then you will meet up more. If not, just carry on with your life. That is it”.

Attila makes sure to use his free time beneficially and has lots of hobbies, mostly crafting. He recalls the things he takes delight in with great enthusiasm: he enjoys gardening, tinkering with his bike, sewing costumes, but he even cuts his children’s hair. He tells that he was always keen on interior design and dedicates so much attention and time to it that one of his works was even featured in a popular Hungarian magazine, Fészekrakó.

“I love creating things, but only if I get to do the work. I would like to install a small pond next year, have fish and tiny cascades in it”

A piece of advice from the porn star

Attila is disappointed in the way sex is handled (especially in Hungary); he feels that being more open to this topic is very much needed today, arguing that there should be sex education in schools so that teenagers will be more responsible and less anxious. But the porn star feels that adults are problematic too: “Take for example how people enter sex shops: they look around at least six times to make sure no one notices them and then tell the shopkeeper that they are buying a vibrator for their uncle’s sister’s neighbour’s cousin.

“People always say that sex is what keeps a relationship intact, but we still surround ourselves with taboos and constantly lie about this topic.

We are afraid to tell our partners that we would like to try this and that, or that we do not enjoy what they are doing. We keep silent because we are afraid we might hurt them.

“We would rather fake it”.
