Russian crude poised to flow to Hungary once more

Repair work on the Druzhba pipeline, Hungary’s main source of delivery for its Russian crude, has been completed, Hungarian oil and gas company MOL said in an announcement posted on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
JSC Ukrtransnafta, which operates the Ukrainian section of the pipeline, informed MOL that the work was finished and that the force majeure conditions in effect since January 27, 2026 ceased as of 6:00 in the evening on April 21, 2026, MOL said.
“According to the notification, JSC Ukrtransnafta is ready to resume crude oil transit to Hungary and Slovakia,” the company added.
Hungary tapped its strategic crude and motor fuel reserves after deliveries through the Druzhba ceased on January 27.
