Russian food watchdog to review Hungarian meat companies in April
Budapest (MTI) – Russia’s plant and animal health authority, Rosselkhoznadzor, has agreed with its Hungarian counterpart on the details of reviews local meat companies must undergo to regain entry to the Russian market, news agency Tass said on Tuesday.
Rosselkhoznadzor chief Sergey Dankvert spoke on the phone with his counterparts in Hungary and Greece on the reviews which will start in both countries on April 20, Tass said.
A group of Russian experts will scrutinise about 20 Hungarian companies within a ten-day period.
Russia introduced an embargo on food imports from Europe last August, as a counter-measure to sanctions by the West because of the crisis in Ukraine.
