Ryanair switches flights, almost takes Hungarian passengers to the wrong destination
Instead of Naples, a Ryanair flight almost took Hungarian tourists to Bari, another city in southern Italy.
Attila Geönczeöl, a Hungarian winemaker, spoke about the incident to Ripost. “Everyone was standing around, it took 15-20 minutes to get us back to the building and then another half an hour to the gate where the flight was supposed to leave for Bari. Somehow they switched the two machines, or just the gates,” the Hungarian winemaker said.
Geönczeöl was to travel to Naples, Italy with his fellow passengers, some of whom had already boarded the plane. But then the flight attendant told them that the plane was going to Bari. Meanwhile, the passengers on their way to Bari almost landed in Naples.
The pilot even joked that anyone who didn’t want to go to Naples should tell the flight attendants now. “I think if someone doesn’t check a boarding pass, they’ll just send the passengers somewhere else and they won’t notice the change… I hope the luggage doesn’t arrive in Bari…” the Hungarian winemaker added.
The Ryanair plane arrived in Naples more than an hour late.
