Passengers on the Győr main line should expect journey times to increase by up to an hour during the morning and late morning, with rail replacement buses, missed services and significant disruption after overhead wires were torn down between Biatorbágy and Herceghalom, halting trains on both tracks, Mávinform said on Monday morning.
Services towards Austria disrupted
According to the operator, international services and domestic InterCity trains are running only as far as Tatabánya, where they reverse towards Győr. Express replacement buses are operating between Tatabánya and Budapest-Kelenföld.
S10 suburban services have been split, running between Déli station and Biatorbágy, and between Bicske and Győr, with replacement buses covering the Biatorbágy–Bicske section. S12 services are restricted to the Tatabánya–Oroszlány route, the Hungarian news agency wrote.

Until the disruption is resolved, Budapest’s public transport operator, BKK, is accepting rail tickets on Metro Line 4. Seat reservations have also been waived on all services along the Győr main line for the duration of the disruption.

Further delays at Lake Balaton
Delays have also been reported on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, where a points failure between Balatonlelle felső and Balatonboglár has temporarily halted services, Mávinform said in a Facebook post on Monday.
Trains are expected to remain stationary until the fault is repaired. The same section was affected by a similar points failure on Sunday.
