Slovakia-Hungary gas interconnector to be launched on Thursday
Budapest, March 22 (MTI) – The interconnector linking Hungary’s and Slovakia’s natural gas networks will be inaugurated on March 27, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said.
The construction of the new link was co-funded with the European Union.
The investor Magyar Gaz Tranzit Zrt earlier said the new gas pipeline will improve the safety of gas supply in Hungary and the region, reducing Hungary’s dependency on Russian natural gas supplies.
The interconnector is 111 kilometres long, with a 92-kilometre section located in Hungary and 19 kilometres in Slovakia.
