Szijjarto meets Bavaria’s EU minister
Budapest (MTI) – Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto met Beate Merk, Bavaria’s minister for European affairs and regional ties, for talks in Budapest on Monday.
A statement from the foreign ministry welcomed that Hungary’s exports to Bavaria had grown by 33 percent in 2014, which greatly contributed to record-high Hungarian exports to Germany last year.
Parties at the talks were in agreement that the EU-US free trade agreement could yield benefits to both Hungary and Bavaria but Europe’s legal system needs to be retained and the community’s protection for its products, its health and agricultural achievements should be maintained.
The talks also focused on immigration and energy, the statement added.
