The special building of the House of Hungarian Music is coming alive – Video

ouse of Hungarian Music, music, City Park, architecture

A new video of the city park’s perhaps most interesting contemporary building, the House of Hungarian Music, has been recently shared by the Liget Budapest Project.

According to the plans, the triple structure of the mushroom building (exhibition hall, performing arts and educational tasks) will be completed later this year. The functional separation is already visible architecturally: while the concert and lecture hall and the open-air stage are located on the park level, the teaching and research rooms are upstairs in the “floating hat” of the house.

During the design of the House of Hungarian Music, Japanese architect Fujimoto Su placed great emphasis on the harmony of the building and the park, as well as on the functional complexity of the institution.

The different parts of the building are housed on three levels, connected by a 14-ton, suspended spiral staircase.

According to Telex, the House of Hungarian Music will function as a complex musical arena, with innumerable experiences of the world of music and sounds to the visitors. Among others, it will offer:

  • an interactive music history exhibition,
  • concerts,
  • musical experiments,
  • music classes,
  • opportunities to listen to and try out music.

Cubic metres worth of bird droppings, thousands of locks collected from the Chain Bridge!

Chain Bridge revamp

The renewal of the Chain Bridge has entered the phase of construction where the run-down reinforced concrete structure has been “sliced” and taken away piece by piece, and new steel structures are being built.

According to telex.hu, workers put the new steel element into its new place on Wednesday morning. With that, a new phase of the construction has started in the renewal project of Budapest’s iconic Chain Bridge. There will be 35 more of these steel elements, each weighing eight tonnes.

chain_bridge_budapest
PrtScr/YT

The old chains will not be replaced, and the steel structure of the bridge is also to remain the original.

Interestingly, the centre of the bridge is now 10 centimetres higher, after hundreds of tonnes of reinforced concrete plates were removed. Once all the new steel ones replace the old elements, this elevation will end, and the new structure will be only 1-2 centimetres higher than the original.

3-4 cubic metres worth of bird droppings have been cleared off the bridge. With the renovated bridge, they will try to baulk nesting since guano is corrosive. Furthermore, workers took off ten bucketfuls of love locks, which they will place on a wall after the revamp.

The southern side of the bridge is in much worse condition than the northern side because of the different amounts of sunlight they get. The southern side receives more since Hungary is in the northern hemisphere.

Experts will now correct the harms done by the differing levels of heat absorption or by corrosion. And there are damages caused by boats and even the bombs of WWII which will be corrected, too.

The new colour of the Chain Bridge will be bluish-grey.

Some other elements of the project are: reconstructing the stone lions, building a new lamp system, modernising public utilities on the bridge, and giving a changeable decorative floodlight.

Cars will be able to commute again on the bridge in December 2022, but the pavements will remain closed until August 2023.

Meanwhile, the state has not transferred their contribution of HUF 6 billion (EUR 17.1 million) promised before, atv.hu reported.

Unique European bridge to be finished soon in Hungary – VIDEOS

bridge

The construction work of the Tisza Bridge in Tiszaug, situated in the Sothern Great Plain region, is going right according to plans.

Hungary has many unique features that cannot be found anywhere else. For instance, the country has a history of over 1000 years, Central Europe’s largest lake, and now, it

will soon be the proud owner of a bridge with an exceptional framework and mechanism that is like no other in Europe.

In fact, in the whole world, too, there are only a few similar designs.

The uniquely structured bridge has been under construction since January 2019. The contractor hopes to completely finalise the works by the last day of August. Duna Aszfalt KFt. asked magyarépítők.hu to shoot a brand-new video as they are getting closer to the handover and inauguration of the edifice.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHdi4rNX6w0&t=97s

The one in a million structure “forms a deformed ellipse, so the appearance of the 556-metre-long bridge is reminiscent of one of the symbols of the Hungarian Great Plain, the “covered wagon,”

writes Peri on Facebook. “The final height of the bridge pylons is over 50 metres. The contractor used a total of about 70 tonnes of formwork material for concreting the arched pylons.”

The 10-kilometre-long distance of the M44 motorway is the investment of NIF (Nemzeti Infrastruktúra Fejlesztő Zrt.), carried out by Duna Aszfalt Zrt. for a price of 51.3 billion forints (146 million euros). The bridge built based on the plans of Uvaterv Zrt. is part of this project, writes Hello Magyar.

Once the bridge is finalised, the area under it will be next. The contractor will rearrange it, and the protection of both shores of the river in a 100-metre-long section will also be assured. It will require important fieldwork and the placement of riprap from the building contractor.

Giant hotel and residential park to be built in Lake Balaton’s gem, Tihany: locals protested

Tihany Balaton Uplands

There was a demonstration in Tihany, one of the most beautiful and popular settlements of Lake Balaton. Residents and holidaymakers protested against the incorporation in the World Heritage city. The contractor wants a hotel and a residential park in the area.

Over the weekend, hundreds of people gathered to hold a peaceful demonstration from the Tihany ferry. The participants aimed to protest against the planned construction in a green area called Kenderföld. The local  Révbe Érünk Egyesület organised the action. Their demands have been summarised in three main points, writes euronews.hu.

  1. Tihany should not be a city.
  2. Leave space for nature, forests, reeds, swamps.
  3. Regarding the fate and future of Tihany, residents and resort owners should also be involved in the decision-making processes.

The main fear of the people of Tihany is that the ecologically sensitive area will disappear.

The construction plans are very grandiose. A total of 388 apartments are planned in 22 buildings in the area, as well as a 120-room wellness centre and hotel. In the swampy, reed area, the investor would build a walkway. During the construction that lasts for several years, the traffic serving the construction and later the residents further increase the congestion of Tihany.

An additional 110 flats could be built in the area of the former rider school. Within the framework of the Balaton Gate project, a market square, a parking lot for 200 cars, and a visitor centre would also be built. “On the northern shore of Lake Balaton, there is not a single installation of this density in a single settlement, not even in Balatonfüred,” explained György Molnár, the president of The Révbe Érünk Egyesület.

Residents want them to rethink their plans.

Two local independent representatives also took part in the demonstration. However, Mayor Imre Tósoki was not present, writes 444.hu. The people of Tihany want the municipality to communicate with them. During a two-year construction moratorium, it would be possible to rethink plans and rules. In this way, green areas, trees to be felled and local wildlife can be protected.

The world’s longest suspension bridge to be built in Hungary?! – PHOTOS

Zemplén bridge

According to the plans, the 700-meter-long suspension bridge will be constructed between the two mountain peaks of Sátoraljaújhely (Zemplén) for EUR 11.3 million (~HUF 4 billion).

A new pedestrian bridge project will be carried out in Hungary in the mountain peaks of Zemplén. As the Hungarian news portal Magyar Építők reports, the public procurement of the extralarge suspended bridge has been won by Graboplan Industrie Ltd., which will carry out the project from EUR 11.3 million (~HUF 4 billion).

The procurement has been realised for the second time after it had ended unsuccessfully for the first time in March. The reason then was that the financial resource of EUR 7.9 million (~HUF 2.8 billion) available at that time was not enough to conclude the contract. Since then, it seems that the budget has increased to carry out the project – reported by Portfolio.

For visitors, the bridge will be approachable from the hiking trails that will be built on Várhegy and Szárhegy, as well as those connected to existing roads and promenades.

The area of the bridgeheads can only be entered within the opening hours of the Zemplén Adventure Park, after buying an entrance ticket.

The pedestrian bridge will be built of modern and durable materials in a unique rope bridge design, similar to Inca rope bridges. The bridge will be an extremely motion- and vibration-sensitive structure, safe only with a designed tethered wind cable system to ensure stability.

The walking surface of the bridge will be 1.2 meters wide and

the span of the bridge will be 700 meters, making it the longest suspension bridge in the world.

The bridge’s structure is a rope bridge, i.e. the cables stretched between the gripping points are the main load-bearing elements of the bridge. Based on the plans, the middle section, which is several hundred meters long, will be pleasantly walkable, almost horizontal. The installation and assembly of the steel structure – without rope elements – is a minimum of 140 tons.

The lion of the Chain Bridge was lifted — VIDEO, PHOTOS

Chain Bridge Budapest

One of the iconic elements of the Hungarian capital is the Chain Bridge. The bridge will regain its former glory during long renovation works. Renovation is now underway with the lifting of the famous lion statue.

The most important architectural project of Budapest is currently the renovation of the iconic Chain Bridge. The bridge was closed in June. It is planned to stay that way for 18 months, until the bridge is completely transformed. Traffic was closed on the bridge first, then demolition work was in the focus at the first stage. An important milestone was the demolition of the old, worn-out track structure. Now, the renovation arrived at another important stage.

The first lion statue was taken down.

Chain Bridge Budapest
Photo: MTI/Zsolt Szigetváry

First, one of the lions of the Pest bridgehead was lifted from its place. After that, the other lion will also be moved in days. The removal of the two lions in Buda will take place at the end of August. A lion consists of three blocks of stone. These three separate parts are held together by cement, writes hellomagyar.hu. The sculptures will be lifted in three parts during the renovation and then will be put back in three parts after the restoration.

The weight of the three parts is roughly equivalent to the weight of a bus. Anett Puskár, the communications manager of A-Híd Zrt., remarked that the lions are surrounded by many legends. According to one such story,

the sculptor jumped into the Danube when it turned out that the lions had no tongue.

The creator of the sculptures was János Marschalkó. However, the legend is not true, not least because it is visible at the scene that the lion statues do have a tongue.

The sculptures will then be taken to a studio in the Újpest district of the capital. Restoration awaits them there. While doing so, they look at the structure of the sculptures. This is because, in the case of limestone sculptures, the weather can easily damage their stability.

The sculptures are then chemically cleaned and repaired. The experts are restoring the parts of the statue that originally existed. For example, there will continue to be only canines in the mouth of the sculptures, but the broken lower teeth will be repaired, writes magyarepitok.hu

The renovation of the Chain Bridge is going according to plan.

At the end of 2022, the bridge will be returned for traffic use. By then, the lions will also be in their place.

The mesmerising view from Budapest’s tallest building – PHOTOS

Hungary restriction Budapest

The office tower is quickly coming together, and it already looks over the Hungarian capital.

The tallest office building in the country has the aim to establish a whole new district in Budapest. The project is unique in every aspect, both in the Hungarian construction sector and the international market. It is impossible to find another building similar to the one designed by Foster and Partners on the Danube bank.

It is one of the most important investments of Budapest of the next couple of years, executed by Property Market, an affiliate of Market Zrt.

The office tower, called MOL Campus, will serve as the future headquarters of MOL Group. It is

the tallest building not only in Budapest but in the whole of Hungary,

wrote DNH earlier this year.

The future headquarters of the company has already reached its tallest point.

The topping out was held at 120m into the sky,

together with a press conference. The highest floor of the building is planned to be located at this height.

MOL Tower
MTI/Máthé Zoltán

If everything goes according to plans, MOL Campus will open a little over a year from now, upon completing the construction of the 143 metres tall building.

The last floor at the top will be accessible for the public to admire the breath-taking view of the Hungarian capital from the open panorama balcony.

Helló Magyar writes that the construction works are going well, currently at 62% readiness.

Nine hundred square metres of solar panels will provide the energy supply of the robust building.

The total functional surface of the 28-floor tower will be 86 thousand square metres. The offices will be located on the upper floors, while the lower part of the tower will give place to restaurants, cafés, and further establishments for the employees.

MOL Tower

The whole new district will include 13 office buildings and 15 residential buildings with 3000 apartments, a commercial zone of 15 thousand square metres to provide residents with all necessary services and a new business type of hotel to serve the office park.

Though the tower and its rooftop balcony open for anyone will give a wonderful opportunity to see almost the whole of the capital, the Committee of UNESCO has some counterarguments. They believe that it would have a negative impact on the view of Budapest and its world heritage sights.

Orbán cabinet’s economic recovery strategy over-reliant on “steel and concrete”, says Governor Matolcsy

debrecen construction

Hungary’s sustainable convergence with more developed economies could be inhibited if the government continues to rely on the construction sector to prop up growth once the economy recovers, György Matolcsy wrote in an article published on Monday.

The real question is whether the government continues to follow an “sweeping” fiscal policy or whether it invests smartly in people’s skills, the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) governor wrote in the online edition of daily Magyar Nemzet.

“This is not just about 2022, but about the entire decade,” he said, referring to next year’s general election.

Matolcsy proposed changing the 2022 budget, insisting that the share of “smart investments” needed to generate knowledge-intensive growth was too low in the bill approved last month. He also said

the government should lower the current budget deficit target of 5.9 percent of GDP and return to targeting a 3 percent deficit in parallel with reductions to the public debt.

Around half of the government investments in next year’s budget are tied up in construction, he said, noting that between 2017 and 2020 Hungary saw the largest increase in the share of construction investments in the European Union. Matolcsy said it was construction projects rather than “smart investments” that were driving up Hungary’s investment rate. Hungary also has the largest share of government investments of all EU member states, he noted.

“The state is investing in steel and concrete rather than skills, institutions and brains,” he added.

Matolcsy said that because of the shortages plaguing the construction sector, the government’s many construction projects were generating high inflation in the industry, aggravated by inflation imported from abroad.

All sources of growth are important, he said, but the most important source for sustainable convergence with more developed economies was productivity growth, he added. The key here was digital investment, Matolcsy said. The low level of hi-tech investments couple with outsized construction investments, he said, sucked away resources for productivity growth, he said.

This is what we know about Hungarian “Hollywood”

Marvel Black Widow Budapest

The Hungarian “Hollywood” film studio is planned to be built by one of the wealthiest Hungarians, István Garancsi. It would attract the productions of Disney – also Marvel Studios – and Netflix to Hungary. The future of the complex will soon be decided on.

The plans of the modern, gigantic-sized film studio complex are in the preparation phase, which can be linked to the company of István Garancsi, one of the wealthiest Hungarians, who dreamed up Hungary’s Hollywood studio with the involvement of American experts. As far as the location is concerned, it is most likely that the complex will be located near Lake Omsk and the Danube bank in Budakalász. As the Hungarian news portal Index reports, the idea for the gigantic film studio was born in April this year. Based on current plans, it will be a spectacular building complex with eight floors, comprising 24-26 meters high, 120-150 meters long and 60 meters wide objects.

Accordingly, it is more than possible that Disney and Netflix productions would also be shot in Hungary.

The film studio is planned to be built on the outskirts of Budakalász, near Lake Omsk and the banks of the Danube, on a 26-hectare arable land, of which the investor would use 16 hectares for the construction of the complex. The building rights for the area are still in question that the municipality can approve.

However, the idea of building the film studio is divisive among locals – some people support it, others do not at all.

That is why it is still questionable whether the project will get the necessary permits for the construction.

The realisation of the project has several benefits for the municipality of Budakalász, including a one-time HUF 100-120 million paid by the investor for the land, an annual payment of nearly HUF 200 million as a business, land and building tax for the film studio, from which many local developments could take place in the future. For the support of studio construction, it has already been said that while road traffic could increase, it would not cause traffic jams because a shoot typically takes 14-16 hours, starts at dawn and lasts until late at night. Therefore, filmmakers would normally commute to the studio in Budakalász outside of peak hours. Additionally, it is also important to mention that the film studio may create jobs for locals in the future.

However, some risks are also considered, including the spectacle of the planned film studio and the disappearance of another green area in Budapest in a Danube section protected by Natura 2000. Additionally, from a meteorological point of view, the construction of the film studio could cause many difficulties for the neighbouring popular Budapest’s Lupa Beach causing thunderstorm cloud formation and rainfalls in the area.

Based on these considerations, a representative poll among locals is currently underway, the results of which are expected to be published by the Budakalász Board of Representatives within days. After that, they will soon decide whether they approve the rights that will make the project feasible.

Demolishing the track structure of the Chain Bridge has started – PHOTO GALLERY

Chain Bridge renovation

Less than a month ago, traffic was closed on one of Budapest’s iconic bridges. Work has since begun, but now, the renovation has reached another milestone. They began to demolish the track structure of the bridge. The old, run-down reinforced concrete structure is “sliced” and lifted piece by piece.

For the time being, the complete renovation of the Chain Bridge is proceeding according to plan. The tourist attraction connecting Buda and Pest was closed on June 16, writes hellomagyar.hu.

The demolition of the bridge track structure has begun.

The contractor provided an opportunity for photographers to capture this phase of the bridge’s renovation. During the demolition of the track structure, the aged reinforced concrete structure is cut into four slices along the longitudinal axis of the roadway with a circular saw, writes index.hu. After the screw fastening, the concrete slices of 2-3.5 tonnes each are lifted and transported.

The demolition of the road surface began in the middle of the bridge. Engineers are constantly looking at which parts need to be replaced, which parts need to be repaired, and which parts are intact. The new steel track structure will arrive in August. These will be installed parallel to the demolition, thus maintaining the equilibrium structure of the bridge. The old reinforced concrete structure was out of date. The new structure is both lighter and better suited to the rest of the bridge.

Two gantry cranes serving the construction site have been completed and will be erected on the Chain Bridge.

A track system has also been built, on which the cranes will travel. In addition, corrosion protection work on the bridge chains has begun. The 7,000-square-metre suspended scaffolding is also visible.

The immense manor of PM Orbán’s family – VIDEO

Hatvanpuszta

An incredibly huge land belonging to the Orbán family is currently undergoing some major changes to become an eco-manor. At least that is what the permissions and paperwork say.

The famous, once Habsburg manor used to belong to Archduke Joseph of Austria, almost 200 years ago. At those times, the highest political title in Hungary, right after the King, was occupied by the archduke. He was the prime minister of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Today, the land belongs to the Orbán family, more precisely to Győző Orbán, father of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. At least on official papers it does, since the Prime Minister has no wealth at all, based on his tax declarations. His father, however, is the owner of several mining companies that acquired huge profits of several billion forints (1 billion forints is over 2 and a half million euros) over the years. Mostly thanks to public procurements.

Since his son has been Hungary’s Prime Minister, three of his companies went through significant development.

In 2009, their yearly profit altogether was “only” 235 million forints (655 thousand euros). In the past ten years, this yearly profit reached almost 2 billion forints (5 million euros).

PM Orbán: V4 countries should become winners of global economic transformation

It seems like then that he does have the sufficient resources to carry out those reconstruction works on the old manor. Hvg.hu investigating the construction thinks a little different.

Their half an hour-long documentary on the manor, its official permissions, and its financial background tries to find out the truth about the works that have been going on for over ten years now. It would be easier to ask for an official document either from the Prime Minister or his father, only it is not possible.

Everything around the investment is a secret.

The only thing PM Viktor Orbán or anyone in his government said is that there is a manor under construction.

Hvg.hu used drones, satellite images, reachable documentations, several conversations, and newly taken images from a small aircraft to paint a picture of what is actually being built there and using how much money.

As it was mentioned earlier, official documents state that an eco-manor will function on the land. 5 big buildings are already standing on it, which used to be a big house for the officers, another one for the maids, two huge barns in an L-shape, and a barn-yarn behind them. Looking at the images below in the video, the change is rather huge over the past years, considering their original state. Which poses another question?

How is it possible to completely demolish and rebuild these buildings that are classified as monuments?

Nevertheless, they did so and renovated the officer’s home of 560 m2, the maids’ home of 560 m2 and the two barns of 2000 m2, respectively. Thus,

the total useable surface reaches 6752m2.

It is actually bigger than Michael Jordan’s luxury palace in Chicago, which he did not manage to sell.

Considering how much it costs per m2 to build a new house or hotel and by looking at only the useable surface that we can see through the drone images, the total construction costs somewhere between 3 and 6 billion forints (1 billion forints is around two and a half million euros).

Since the documentary was released, hvg.hu received several anonymous information and even images from inside the manor and the buildings. One of them, which is officially set to serve as a farmer building, looks very much like a library (minute 4:33 in the video). According to the information source of the newspaper, it is indeed intended to be a library instead.

When Viktor Orbán was asked about what is being built, he answered: “A manor, since it has always been that way”.

Reconstruction of Budapest’s Blaha Lujza Square to begin on Monday

blaha lujza square

A comprehensive revamp of downtown Blaha Lujza Square will begin on Monday with traffic restrictions in place for 10 to 12 weeks, the cabinet chief of the mayor of Budapest said on Wednesday.

Car traffic at the junction of Rákóczi Avenue and the Grand Boulevard will be restricted to one lane in both directions during the 12-week period, Samu Balogh told a press conference. The bicycle lane will be scrapped in the construction area, and pedestrian traffic at the square will also be restricted, he said.

Traffic restrictions will not affect the operation of tram lines 4 and 6, he added.

He noted that the new municipal government had redesigned previous plans of the square’s upgrade to include larger green areas with altogether 70 trees. It will be fully accessible with a wheelchair and will include a public restroom, he said.

Meanwhile, László Horváth, manager of the project’s implementation at Budapest public transport company BKK, told an informal roundtable discussion that the cost of the revamp totals at 3.47 billion forints (EUR 9.8m).

The reconstruction is slated to end in late 2022.

Incredible Hungary – it was part of the EU tender, so they put a gate leading nowhere on the wall

Useless Gate Concrete Wall

Hungarians are some of the most resourceful people in the world, and this funny but also pathetic incident, unfortunately, supports this statement. Have you ever wondered what the most redundant construction element in the world is? You might have found what you were looking for.

In Szolnok, a residential park has received a subsidy from the European Union to modernise the buildings and to build a wall around the lot. There was one catch, however. In their tender, they included a gate that leads to the neighbouring park, but the residents later changed their minds and decided that they would not like to have a gate on that side, 444 reported.

Unfortunately, because the tender included a gate, they needed to comply with it, otherwise, they would have had to pay the money back.

The residents had a pretty great solution to their problem, but it might also be one of the most useless construction elements in Hungary, or maybe in the entire world.

One of the Hungarian opposition parties, the Hungarian Two Tailed Dog Party, has also pointed out the strange solution on their Facebook page. The party members have managed to meet with László Lits, the manager of NHSZ Szolnok Public Service Provider Non-profit Ltd. (NHSZ Szolnok Közszolgáltató Nonprofit Kft.), who told them that

the residents have repurposed the gate to be a padlock wall. This way, they could get some function out of the gate, 444 wrote.

The Hungarian Two Tailed Dog Party then played with the idea and installed two windows next to the gate, one on each side, and they also added a doormat to make a caricature out of the pathetic loophole caused by bureaucracy.

Government to ban the export of construction materials from October

Hungary construction government
The government is planning to ban the export of construction materials from October, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told public broadcaster Kossuth Rádió on Friday.

Exports have grown in the sector recently, contributing to higher prices of some products, Orbán noted. The government will notify Brussels of the measure, and the approval procedure is expected to take four months, he added.

The export of construction materials in the meantime will have to be reported to the government, which will have pre-purchasing rights, he said.
“We’re trying to keep essential materials within the country,”
Orbán said.

The measure is not surprising since the PM noted “serious problems” in the construction industry in June 30, saying that steep rises in the price of materials had “syphoned away” government support for home reconstruction from families and into the pockets of manufacturers. Countermeasures could be discussed in government as soon as this week, he added then.

László Koji, chairman of the Hungarian builders’ association, said before to portfolio.hu that the steep rise in the price of the construction materials started in March and it is now at about 25-30 pc. This
endangers not only the government’s allowances for the families, but also the administration’s ambitious kindergarten-building program.
Mr Koji said then that the market will not be able to find a solution on that problem so urgent state intervention is needed.

Second phase of Chain Bridge reconstruction gets under way

chain bridge closed

The second phase of the reconstruction on Budapest’s Chain Bridge has started despite the hit the city’s revenues have taken from the coronavirus epidemic and government austerity, Mayor Gergely Karácsony said on Wednesday.

Karácsony told a press conference held at the bridge that the government support for the works has yet to arrive.

He called on “all political players to stop trying to turn public opinion against the investment even if they cannot help.”

The bridge will be ready by the 150th anniversary of the unification of Pest, Buda and Óbuda into Budapest in August 2023, Karácsony said.

The 26.5 billion forint (EUR 75.4m) refurbishment will include reconstruction of the central lanes and the pavements, repairs to the steel structures and rails, re-insulation of the chain-chambers and ensuring protection against flooding.

The bridge’s iconic lion statues will also be restored and the whole structure equipped with a new LED lighting system.

budapest real estate

Construction costs could rise by 5-9 percent nationally but by even more than 10 percent in Budapest in the second half of the year, Hungarian construction industry association ÉVOSZ said on Wednesday based on a survey of construction sector companies.

In January-May the surveyed companies experienced unforeseen price increases for building materials and labour costs, which lead them to increase their own fees.

In the first five months of the year, compared to the end of 2020, respondents reported a 9 percent price increase for floor coverings, 11 percent for roof tiles, 12 percent for concrete, 23 percent for plasterboard components, 47 percent for insulation material, and 72 percent for wood.

The average gross monthly wage of semi-skilled workers rose by 12 percent nationally and by 14 percent in Budapest.

The wages of skilled workers also increased by 12 percent and 13 percent, respectively.

Engineering service providers raised prices by 8 percent across the county and design companies by 5 percent.

ÉVOSZ surveyed 400 companies, among them micro firms, SMEs and large companies.
