Something Hungarians have always been good at are inventions, innovations. Hungarian masterminds surprised the world throughout history with amazing inventions that form part of our everyday lives today. We put together a quiz with some of the most outstanding Hungarian inventions and we are curious to see the results 🙂

The Nobel Prize winning Italian physicist, Enrico Fermi, was once asked whether he believes in the existence of extra-terrestrial beings. He answered: “Of course, they are already here among us: they just call themselves Hungarians.” At that time Fermi worked with geniuses like Leó Szilárd, Tódor Kármán, János Neumann, Pál Halmos, Jenő Wigner, Ede Teller, György Pólya and Pál Erdős. This is the effect Hungarian inventors have on some people 🙂

Christmas is right around the corner so most people have probably started thinking about what to cook and bake for the holidays, because traditional Hungarian dishes play a key role on Christmas Eve. Some of these dishes are popular all over the world and some of them are very specific and typical of Hungary. We put together a fun quiz with some of the most common Christmas meals so you can test your knowledge and maybe you gustatory buds as well 😉

The festive dinner is truly the highlight of Christmas Eve. Most of our traditional dishes look back on many-many years of history. Keep in mind that the quiz was put together by subjective choices, traditional Hungarian Christmas dishes may vary in different regions of the country. Good luck!

A few months ago we reported that Origo.hu collected the most amazing squares of the capital city after listing some of the most beautiful squares in the whole of Hungary. The list is subjective; however, almost all of the squares are part of the “one day in Budapest” programme put together by foreigners. When you think of Hungarian squares, probably Heroes’ Square comes to your mind at first, but the capital has many more squares which are all worth visiting. So we put together a quiz that contains some of the most popular squares in Budapest. We are interested to find out how many of them you can recognise!
