The Sky Garden (45, Podmaniczky utca, 1064)

This rooftop bar belonging to Mystery Hotel Budapest, with the capacity of 50 people, gives the place a unique touch. You can admire the magnificent view of the city in the shadow of a Doric column. “The Royal palace almost floats in front of us. The Eiffel-designed Nyugati Railway Station is a stunning building just a short walk away. In the distance, you can see the Castle of Buda, the Fishermen’s Bastion and Gellért Hill.” They are open every day between 3 pm and 11 pm. Thanks to its location and everything they offer, they recommend making a reservation in advance.

360 Bár (39, Andrássy út, 1061)

This rooftop terrace in the heart of Budapest gives a 360° panoramic view of the capital. And when I say on the capital, I really mean it. Almost every monument and important spot can be seen from this minimalist yet modern bar full of green plants and a very long drink list. Despite its location in Andrássy Avenue, 360 Bár has reasonable prices and very nice opening hours between 2 pm and 2 am from Friday to Saturday, which of course, may vary depending on the weather. The rest of the days, they close at midnight, and between Thursday and Sunday, there is a 1000 forints entry fee (3euros). It is a popular place, so reserving a table in advance is more than advised.

High Note Sky Bar (5, Hercegprímás utca, 1051)

As opposed to the previous spot, High Note Sky Bar is open all year round, independently from the weather conditions, as they have a big inside area. It is a must-visit place for anyone who wants to spend a comfortable evening with friends, sipping on a tasty cocktail admiring the charming view of the Basilica. Keep in mind that this spot is on the fancier side of our list, offering several evening programmes with music and parties so prices will fall into the fancy category, as well. Moreover, they even have a separate corner set up to take the best Instagram worthy pictures.

Liebling (49-51, Akácfa utca, 1073)

This place is the odd one out, as Liebling is not situated very high in the sky with a panoramic view of the city. On the other hand, it is not only in the middle of the centre but on top of Instant-Fogas, one of the most popular ruin bars/clubs of Budapest. As they write on their website: “Liebling is the most relaxing place within INSTANT – FOGAS complex; however, entertainment is guaranteed whenever you visit this spot.” After having danced for hours on one of the seven dance floors of the club, taking a sip of fresh air in the company of a bottle of water or another round of a mixed drink can recharge your batteries.
