The famous Margitsziget Mineral Water may be restarted
Fővárosi Vízművek Zrt. (Budapest Water Supply Co.) and Szentkirályi Ásványvíz Kft. (Szentkirályi Mineral Water Co.) signed a declaration of intent to restart the bottling of Margitsziget Mineral Water in Budapest on Tuesday.
The spring in Margitsziget has been one of the most famous ones since the 1860’s. The factory was socalized by the capital in the 1900’s and bottling stoped in 2010.
At the press conference chief executive of the water supply company, Csaba Haraghy said that a feasibility study would be carried out in the first phase of the cooperation.
Managing director of the mineral water company, Levente Balogh claimed that they would like to manage a modern factory with a bottling show room for the tourist. No further details were revealed about the project.
Both parties’ interest is a long-term cooperation, the costs of which will be at least 2-3 million euros.
