Attraction Shadow Theatre
Attraction Shadow Theatre’s spectacular shadow play gained world fame in the world 2013 Britain’s Got Talent, thanks to which, the Hungarian group of dancers became the first foreign performers who won the world-famous talent show. According to Zoltán Szűcs, head of the formation,
“the talent show was a defining milestone for the production; it was the point when Attraction really became international”.
As Tények reports, shortly after their victory, one of the jury members, Simon Cowell, would have contracted them and promised to bring the team to Las Vegas; however, the Hungarian team chose another management “in order to to keep the Hungarianness of the production, and create this miracle with Hungarian dancers”. Since then, the Hungarian shadow production gained such reputation that their performance was watched by more than 1 billion viewers at the Chinese New Year celebration.
Fricska Folk Dance Band
Besides Attraction, the Hungarian folk dance band Fricska also achieved significant international success.
The Hungarian folk dance ensemble participated in Britain’s Got Talent in 2015 and left their mark on the stage – standing ovations followed their performance.
A few years later, the Hungarian folk dance band was invited to perform in the Buckingham Palace, on the occasion of Prince Charles’s 70th birthday, where they had the honour to shake hands with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles.
Viktor Király
After winning the Hungarian talent show Megasztár in 2008, Viktor Király decided to try his fortune in the overseas as well.
In 2015, he participated in the American singer talent show, The Voice, in front of such world stars like Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams and Adam Levine
– for whom Viktor’s voice was so appealing that he turned his chair immediately after the Hungarian singer started his song.
Viktor convinced all the members of the jury; his master was the Grammy-winning singer Adam Levine. This is how he got to the live show of the American talent competition.
