This is what Hungary needs to finally abolish lockdown and reopen

Gyula Kincses, chairman of the Hungarian Medical Chamber, talked about the prerequisites of the “Great Hungarian Reopening” on ATV on Friday. He said that mass vaccination needs at least three conditions: professional human resources, the number of vaccines available, and equipment supporting the two former conditions.

According to portfolio.hu, Gyula Kincses said that Hungary needs good logistics and enough people accepting the jab to reach the required level of immunity. He thinks that these got better in the last few months in Hungary, but the issue is over-politicised. Portfolio.hu says that the government has to persuade enough people to accept the vaccine since

strict lockdown measures cannot be otherwise abolished.

Mr Kincses stated that since the question was in the focus of politics, aversion towards the vaccines was gratuitously high among Hungarians in the beginning. He added that the Hungarian Medical Chamber did everything to reduce the rate of resistance. They are going to launch a campaign soon.

He talked about the new healthcare service contract due from February 28. However, professionals will only get the new terms and conditions in the next few days. He said that the national hospital director already gave information about it to the hospital leaders, which did not reach the lower levels in some cases.

Having a second job will not be as difficult

as the original law suggested at first glance, and colleagues working as pensioners will be able to continue their service easier.

However, there are still open questions in that regard. For example, nobody knows how much the state will pay for on-call duty.

Based on the plans, Hungary will finish the testing of the Estonian Guardtime vaccine information platform in February. The company said that the Hungarian government would like to introduce the different modules in the country after that.

The online platform enables everybody to

prove that they already received the vaccine,

which will be vital if one wants to enter a hotel, a sports or cultural event. Hungary was among the first countries to say yes to taking part in the testing phase. In Estonia and Iceland, the procedure is finished, and the latter already uses the platform. Guardtime’s goal is not only to generate certificates but to help the vaccination campaigns become more efficient. Therefore, it follows the movement of the individual vaccines and gives feedback to the factories and the pharmacies. Meanwhile, it takes special care to protect all personal data.
