Trump Jr in Budapest: Hungary is like heaven

Donald Trump Jr arrived in Hungary on Friday and met with FM Péter Szijjártó that day. Later, he participated in the Trump Business 2025 forum organised by the Hungarian business news portal Portfolio behind closed doors. He said that Hungary was like heaven because its leadership protects its people and culture.

Hungary is like heaven, Trump Jr says

According to hvg.hu, Trump Jr talked to businesspeople at a closed-door business forum in Budapest, organised by entrepreneur Zoltán Aczél and the Hungarian business portal Portfolio. He called it funny that the European Union imposed a EUR 1 million daily fine on Hungary because it does not welcome illegal migrants. He called migration one of the biggest businesses in the world. He added that it would cost a lot to support the migrants inside and said most of them would not want to assimilate. He said Hungary was like heaven because its leadership protects its people and culture.

About his impressions of Hungary and the everyday life of the Hungarians, he said that there is prosperity in Hungary. He praised PM Viktor Orbán for that, saying he and his political group had a strong authorisation, and did not forget about the people.

Trump Jr called Hungary one of the last bastions of light and expressed his hope that they can conclude many good deals, because there are so many threats surrounding Hungary and the Central and Eastern European region.

US-Hungary cooperation concerning pharmaceuticals and tech sectors

About China, he said Washington would not like to be vulnerable to countries that are not their allies. He expressed his commitment to building bridges in politics, business, and the private sector. He added that the tariffs his father announced had an effect because all of their trade partners came to the negotiation tables.

About the bilateral relations between Hungary and the USA, he said that the good personal and trust-based relationship between PM Orbán and US President Trump can serve as a good basis for strengthening bilateral economic relations. He added that the Biden administration had often been hostile to Viktor Orbán’s government because of its patriotic policies and support for Donald Trump.

About possible business cooperation, he said the United States had to recognise investment opportunities in Hungary and the rest of the region, but it was important for the initiative to come from both sides. He added that he saw opportunities for cooperation in the pharmaceuticals and tech sectors.

  1. A heaven with almost no young people. Only elderly that in case of Russian attack, can not even throw a stone, yes, a true heaven on earth!!!

  2. Heaven for fellow bandits and gangsters including refugee status for anyone wanted for corruption in their home country.

  3. Yup, another expert on Hungary after being here just a few days. Hungary is not heaven, but it is my home, and has been for 28 years. I’ve seen a lot of Hungary, Hungarians, and politics in those years, including the mess that it is in today. This will end, and Hungary will survive, just as it has for the past 1100 years. Us ordinary Hungarians who don’t exist in the polished marble world of Budapest’s political elite will survive too.

    • Is it really a bigger “mess” than it was under Gyurcsany?!

Is it really a bigger “mess” when the I.M.F. was selling off the country’s assets, while dictating public policy, including on entirely non-fiscal matters!?

Is it really a bigger “mess” than most every Western European town and city that has been “enriched” by “New Europeans,” raping the women, robbing the seniors, and stabbing the kids!?!?!

      • Yes it is. It’s a huge mess. I was there in 2005 and the standard of living was higher even with Gyurcsany at the helm. Emigration was markedly lower than it is today, with good reason.

  4. This is one of the very few countries in Europe that has not been conquered by hundreds of thousands of violent third-world parasites.

That ALONE makes it a heaven, before we even get to the fact that we can actually afford to heat our homes as well as express vehement disagreement with government policies without being raided and hauled off to jail. Oh, and our elections don’t get annulled and opposition leaders prosecuted for, ahem, “corruption.”

So yeah, it IS heaven, fam.

    • The claim of having thousands of violent migrant again and again from Mr. Steiner is a representation of his ignorance and illiteracy. If your parents have spent the night of having you just kissing, this would be very nice favor for the world, better than hearing your continuous nonsense.
Very funny of you talking about opposition leaders as corrupted, while the whole government is!!! Such a stupid claim again.
While energy costs are subsidized, inflation and democratic backsliding—biased elections, eroded press freedom, and EU sanctions over corruption—contradict its idealized image. Such rhetoric relies on xenophobic myths, obscuring Hungary’s complex realities of authoritarian governance and economic vulnerability.

  5. I feel bad for people who listen to this and don’t understand the only opinion is formed by politics, and Orban’s moronic loyalty – rather than reality and stats. In fact, Austria is seen as the heaven to most Hungarians, who might secretly snicker at this above remark, even if there is a lot to be proud of in the country. People know how much is rotten here.

The primary reason for Austria’s beauty in 2025 is discreet government management, not past grievances around the fall of the empire or Soviet times. It’s visible: the least corrupt country in Europe next to the most corrupt country in Europe. It’s striking where money goes and how its spent. Poor future planning, poor environmental planning, poor agriculture, poor economic management. Our beautiful rental in the Austrian mountains: 1/2 the price of a Balaton apartment, and 100% more beautiful. The shops full of beautiful produce and selection. People smiling and happy because of municipal housing, they are not afraid. In Hungary everybody is afraid.

The reality in Hungary is far from heavenly.

      • Sadly yes. It’s the difference between artificially inflated property prices, places that are traded between elite hands in an area like Balaton – making it financially impossible for Hungarians to enjoy a vacation there – and rentals in Austria that reflect real market value. Hungary at present operates like a giant scam enriching the top bracket while deceiving and impoverishing its own people.

  6. Spent 3 hours on Instagram.
Nonstop videos of violence going on in western europe. Starting in Ireland- the most on Germany, no hope for the UK. France is also critical. Don’t worry if your very rich – europe will remain a great tourist destination. King charles wants to covert St Pauls to a mosque and his final resting place. Plans are allready in the works. All muslim rape gangs will be pardoned at last.

    • A tirade of falsehoods. I resent the malicious accusation you’re levelling at our King Charles, you’re spouting completely rubbish.

    • Extremists and racists use several strategies to spread extremist content online, often exploiting the openness and scale of the internet. Here are the most common methods they use:

      1. Social Media Platforms
They create profiles, groups, and pages to spread propaganda.

Use of coded language, memes, and humor to mask harmful content and make it more shareable.

Exploit algorithms by posting inflammatory content that drives engagement, which platforms sometimes mistakenly amplify.

      2. Fringe Forums and Alternative Platforms
Use of less-regulated or explicitly extremist platforms like 4chan, 8kun, Gab, or Telegram.

These spaces often lack moderation and allow violent or hateful content to circulate freely.

      3. Mainstream Platforms with Evasion Tactics
Use of dog whistles, euphemisms, and layered messages to evade content moderation.

Manipulate platform rules (e.g., staying just below thresholds that trigger bans).

Use of benign-seeming content to funnel users toward more radical material.

      4. Gaming and Chat Apps
Online games and voice/text chat apps (e.g., Discord) can serve as recruitment or coordination spaces.

They exploit the anonymity and casual social nature of these platforms.

      5. Videos and Livestreams
Spread through YouTube, TikTok, or livestream platforms, often using aesthetic production or satire to make the messages palatable.

Radicalization can happen subtly over time through repeated exposure to increasingly extreme content.

      6. Websites, Blogs, and Podcasts
They create their own sites to host long-form ideological material that’s harder to remove.

Podcasts and long interviews give them a veneer of intellectualism and legitimacy.

      7. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Misinformation
Use of SEO tactics to rank high in searches for controversial or trending topics.

Mixing real news with conspiracy theories to erode trust in mainstream sources.

      8. Encrypted or Peer-to-Peer Platforms
Use of encrypted apps (like Signal or Matrix) or decentralized networks to share content securely and without censorship.

  7. Donald Trump Jr. spent his time telling Fidesz associates to stop doing business with the Chinese. The Trump-Orban soap opera just started and the entertainment will be top notch.

    • Could well be. Heaven: purchased and refurbished by the Hungarian taxpayer with room bills paid for by the US taxpayer.
