Ukraine made a gesture towards Hungary: reconciliation on the horizon?
The decision by Ukraine’s National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAZK) to temporarily remove OTP from the sponsors of war list “essentially makes no change”, the press chief of the ministry of foreign affairs and trade said on Saturday.
Hungary’s position remains clear: as long as OTP is not removed from the list completely, Hungary will not approve any further European Union financing in terms of weapons deliveries to Ukraine, Máté Paczolay told MTI. NAZK announced the decision on Friday, adding that in exchange Ukraine expects Hungary to support the transfer of 500 million euros from the European Peace Facility.
