US ambassador: Joint exercises strengthen NATO
Budapest, December 2 (MTI) – Little by little, every joint military exercise makes NATO a stronger alliance, US Ambassador Colleen Bell said as she inspected the Thunder Cloud 2015 joint exercise at the Papa military air base in western Hungary on Wednesday.
As part of the exercise, Hungarian ground forces are joined by servicemen of the US Air Force, with the aim of getting to know each other’s methods of operation, protocol and experiences to work together even more efficiently as allies, the ambassador said.
Some 300 Hungarian soldiers are taking part in the exercise, 36 of whom serve at the Papa air base, while the US has sent 350 troops, among them 94 serving in Papa.
