V. Jubilee Beer Festival in Buda Castle
For the fifth time, one of the largest Hungarian beer festivals opens up for the music and beer loving audience in the Buda Castle from 11th to 14th of June.
The Budavári Sörfesztivál (Buda Castle Beer Festival) offers 200 different types of both imported and Hungarian beer specialities, so it is a great opportunity for beer lovers to sample different beers. Besides the traditional and brand new breweries, this year, the Belgian beer culture will be in the spotlight.
The Buda Castle Beer Festival has become an annual tradition in the life of Budapest. To celebrate such glamorous occasion, this jubilee event also offers special gastro and music productions for the visitors.
Venues
The venues hosting the fifth Jubilee Beer Festival are the well-known Lion Garden and the prestigious Hunyadi Garden, which used to function as a marketplace throughout history.
Lion Garden
The garden, spreading over 4000 square meters, is surrounded by the Hungarian National Gallery, the Budapest Historical Museum, and the National Széchényi Library. The Lion Garden can be approached by car from Palota Street running beyond the Castle, then through the National Széchényi Library via elevator, or from the Szent György Square on foot across the Hunyadi Garden.
Hunyadi Garden
The Hunyadi Garden was commonly used as marketplace in the Kingdom era of Hungary. The garden is easily accessible either from Szent György Square or from Clark Ádám Square on foot. Arrival from Palota Street via elevator is also possible. However, if you decide to take the ‘Sikló’ from Clark Ádám Square, it is an excellent choice as well.
Travel
The Buda Castle can be reached by car, parking prices are according to the regional standard. To approach the venues, namely the Hunyadi and Lion Gardens, the following possibilities are recommended for non-drivers:
From Széll Kálmán Square: buses number 16, 16A and 116 till stop ‘Dísz tér’
From Deák Ferenc Square: bus number 16 till stop ‘Dísz tér’
From Tabán region and Attila Street: on foot and using elevator
From Clark Ádám Square: using the above mentioned ‘Sikló’ or on foot
