Magyar Építők shared a video of the renewed medieval stronghold of the Hungarian King Lajos the Great (1342-1382) located near the foothills of Bükk Mountains and only a couple of kilometres away from Miskolc. Diósgyőr is 192 km from Budapest, but the travel time is only 2 hours since the two cities are connected by motorway.
Based on the report of Magyar Építők, the castle is being renewed by the Épkar Ltd. and the FK-Raszter Ltd. Their aim is to reconstruct the stronghold of Lajos the Great and create one of the most beautiful tourist destination in Central Europe.
Lajos, being the King of Croatia, Hungary and Poland regularly spent a lot of time in the Diósgyőr castle. Later, it became a property of the queens.
