PHOTO GALLERY, VIDEO: Spectacular Budapest fireworks in photos
For most of this afternoon and evening, the fate of the 20 August Budapest fireworks was uncertain due to downpours and stormy weather over the Hungarian capital. Even though it was delayed by an hour, the breathtaking fire show finally started at 10 PM and lasted nearly 40 minutes.

It was spectacular, in every sense of the word. I am so glad it went ahead and the weather didn’t ruin it.
Existing as a nation for more than a thousand year is a huge deal and only total losers and enemies of Hungary can begrudge those of us who love Hungary for celebrating it in style, particularly in this screwed-up world of today.
