VIDEO: Protesters blocked the Elisabeth Bridge in Budapest – UPDATE

Budapest demonstration traffic

The Buda abutment of Elisabeth Bridge (Erzsébet híd) had been closed down due to demonstrations, while traffic was moving in the bus lane towards Pest, BKK wrote on its Facebook page on Monday morning.

The demonstration was organised by the Hatvannégy Vármegye Youth Movement under the name “Freedom for Budahazy!”. As a reminder, in March, the Budapest Metropolitan Court sentenced György Budaházy to 17 years in prison for terrorism and other crimes. Twenty years ago, on the same day, Budaházy and his henchmen closed the Elisabeth Bridge, demanding a recount of the votes after the 2002 parliamentary elections.

The police said that the members of the group were arrested and that they would be prosecuted for violating the provisions of Act LV of 2018 on the Right of Assembly as well as for traffic offences. The action was ongoing, they added.

UPDATE

Protesters blocked all lanes of traffic with cars. Shortly afterwards, the police arrived on the scene along with two tow trucks and took the protesters’ cars away one by one.

The bridge is now clear and traffic is back to normal.

    Democracy – is Dialogue.
Democracy – has NO place for a DICTATORIAL led styled Government.
WHAT continues to be seen & practiced in Hungary ???
The WORSENING of the Economy – the dictatorial role of Government we live under, what will be there next FORCED – “roll of the dice” , or increased PROPAGANDA – that is released into the population of Hungary.
Civilians of Hungary – we have continue to and WHO knows what to-morrow may BRING – paid and paying, from our taxes/pockets – for WRONGS – the course agenda – the present Government has CHOOSEN to take us on.
Friendships of Hungary – exclude Russia & China – who in these times of a growing Financial & Economic major CRISIS – who who – is going to be with & for US ???
