VIDEO: Storm hits Hungary, we show the damage

There was a major storm in Hungary on Wednesday evening, causing a lot of damage. More than fifty damage reports were received in Pest county alone.

Trees fell on roads, branches broke off and other damage was caused during the thunderstorm on Wednesday evening, napi.hu reports. Firefighters were alerted in Pécel due to lightning striking an eight-metre-tall tree, while a fallen tree blocked the main road in Sződliget.

Several alerts were also received in Budapest. High water levels caused problems in basements, garages and underpasses. In the 9th district, a fallen tree downed a power line, while cars were damaged by the storm.
