Vivien Keszthelyi, the 25-year-old wife of David Schumacher, is expecting a baby. The Hungarian racing driver married the son of Ralf Schumacher — and nephew of Michael Schumacher — in February this year.

A new milestone in the youngest Schumacher family: Vivien Keszthelyi to become a mother

The image, posted on social media, shows the couple embracing and kissing in a mirror against a picturesque mountain backdrop. Pink lettering spelling “Baby” has been placed on the mirror, alongside a teddy bear and a tiny pair of children’s shoes.

While the post is romantic, it also appears to hint at the baby’s sex: the shoes are pink, suggesting the couple may be expecting a girl.

The pair also shared a touching message alongside the announcement, saying that their love had made them a couple and that a new life will soon emerge from the life they have built together. The post suggests the baby’s arrival is the next major step in their relationship after their February wedding, Blikk wrote.

Racing dynasties

David Schumacher is well known in motorsport circles. The young driver is the son of former Formula 1 racer Ralf Schumacher and the nephew of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher. Keszthelyi is also a racing driver, and their shared passion brought them together early in the relationship.

The couple reportedly met around eight years ago, when Vivien was 18 and David 17. They kept their relationship largely out of the spotlight, becoming engaged last November before marrying in Salzburg in February, in the company of close family and friends.

Family tensions

The wedding was not entirely free of family drama. David’s mother, Cora Schumacher, was not invited to the ceremony and learned of the marriage through press reports. Despite that, she wished her son and his Hungarian bride well, though she told German newspapers she was stunned not to have been invited.

The relationship between Ralf and Cora has long been stormy, marked by bitter rows and a messy divorce. David has said his mother even threatened him during that period. Cora later formally gave up custody of David, allowing him to remain with his father in Salzburg. For that reason, and for others, he has said he does not want any contact with his mother and would prefer to keep her away from his new family.

Ralf Schumacher came out in 2024 and later married his partner in Saint-Tropez, France, after what he said had already been a stable relationship for some time. Michael Schumacher’s exact state of health remains a closely guarded family secret, with no official medical update available, though reports suggest he is no longer completely bedridden.
