Weather: Whimmy April, record-breaking warm in Hungary
There were snow storms in the second half of March, April started with chilly weather, while it is almost summer now. Where did seasons go?
Hvg.hu cites meteorologist Ádám Fejős, who says that the weather has been overly extreme in the past weeks, only six days were like they normally should, according to the April average.
The weather was so incredibly hot on Monday that it broke a 142-years-old record: the temperature was 29.3° Celsius in Újpest.
The meteorologist added that the temperature reached 30° Celsius in Baja, which came six tenths close to the countrywide record.
Regarding precipitation, April was not too extreme, but regarding temperature, it was more than extreme. There were still snow storms in the second half of March, April started with chilly weather, and now the weather is definitely summery.
“A cold front is coming, which will slightly swing the temperature back to the average interval” added Ádám Fejős.
He also mentioned that the grasses started blossoming, which is very rare in April as they are pronouncedly summer plants, which is the season when they sprinkle their pollens the most. Despite the cold front, the increasing pollen concentrate of the air will not change.
