Women Handball Championship 2013: Hungary In The Quarter Finals
The Hungarian national team qualified for the quarter finals of the World Championship in Serbia! The Hungarian girls, supported by their fans defeated Spain 28:21 (17:12) and are awaiting to play against the winner of the match Brazil – Netherlands, International Handball Federation reports.
The fact that the last deuce was seen in the 12th minute (7:7) shows enough about the quality of the team of head coach Hajdu, and in the continuation of the match everything was dependant upon the Hungarian team. The Great game of the backs Gerbic and Zacik brought +5 to Hungary by the end of the first halftime. – 17:12.
The Spanish girls did not surrender. The third team in the world, managed to return to the match with a series of 4:0 Agilar and Pene (19:17), followed by another Hungarian attack right when they needed t, in the last ten minutes. With a great defense the winners of today’s match stopped the Spanish attackers for ten minutes (49 to 59th) and with goals by Zácsik, Kovacic and Görbicz the uncertainty of the result was brought to an end few minutes before the end of the match – 27:20.
The most efficient in the Hungarian team were Görbicz with six, Zácsik with five and Bognar with four goals, whereas Marta Lopez gave seven goals for Spain.
