WOW! Hungarian universities among the best in the world!

There are ten Hungarian universities that made it to the list of the 1,368 best universities in the world.

In teaching and research, the Central European University (CEU), forced out of the country by the government, scored its best results to date on the list of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), which is currently one of the leading higher education rankings in the world. In the fields of Political Sciences and International Relations, CEU gained the 30th position, while in Philosophy, it is the 37th best university in the world. Furthermore, in History, Sociology, Social Policy, and Public Administration, they are among the 100 best universities, hvg wrote.

Michael Ignatieff, the President-Rector of the institution, said after receiving the results that it is ironic that the Hungarian government cast CEU, the university which is, based on the survey, the best in Hungary in terms of research, out from the country.

According to the list, in the fields of Arts and Social Sciences, only the University of Vienna precedes CEU in Austria. 

In Medical Science, the best Hungarian institution is the Semmelweis University,

which was ranked in 295th position by the experts of the QS. The University of Debrecen and the University of Szeged are also on the list. The former is in the 401-450 category while the letter is somewhere between 451 and 500.

In the case of Natural Sciences, the Eötvös Loránd University (Budapest) is in 318th position, while the Budapest University of Technology and Economics was ranked between 450 and 500. Meanwhile, the Social Science courses of the Budapest Corvinus University finished in the 401-450 category.

In the case of Humanities, Eötvös Loránd University is the best choice in Hungary,

placing 371st on the list.

The Budapest University of Technology and Economics became the first in the Engineering-Technological field. QS ranked it 295th in this regard.
