You might catch a splendid star shedding on Halloween and All Saints’ Day
The middle of next week will be the best time to observe the Taurid meteor shower. Gaze at the Southern skies around midnight to see the star shedding – szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu suggests.
If the skies are clear, you can experience an extraordinary sight at the end of October and the beginning of November. This is the time of the year when the most Taurid meteors arrive to our airspace, so we can expect a night with falling stars.
The peak of the activity of “Halloween fireballs” is usually in November. You have the biggest chance to see them around midnight.
Időkép.hu says: the Taurus constellation at this time is high up in the sky. If the weather allows and there is a possibility of seeing falling stars, then the Southern sky is worth exploring for star lovers. Foreseeably the nights of Halloween and All Saints’ Day will be the best times for stargazing.
The Taurid meteor showers can be observed from mid-October to the second half of November and its peak period is around the 12th of November: this is when you have the best possibility of seeing falling stars.
The effectiveness of the observation is greatly influenced by the often cloudy and humid weather, and the bright nights of the lunar brightness.
The meteor’s name comes from the constellation Taurus, as the asteroids are observed from the direction of this constellation.
The meteors of the Taurids are the remains of the comet Encke. There are also large-sized pieces among them – thanks to which, in some years, truly dazzling stars can be observed.
It might be worth staying up late on these days, if we do not want to miss out on this splendid view.
