Last week Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy addressed members of the Council of Europe. He thanked for the help of the European countries but mentioned some that still do not support 100 PC all Ukrainian demands. Among these, he talked about, for example, Portugal and Germany. But he attacked verbally only PM Viktor Orbán’s Hungary. The president said Orbán has to decide who he stands with. Zelenskiy suggested he was pro-Russian in the ongoing war. Horrors happening in the Ukraine
The Russian Federation invaded Ukraine on February 24. Despite the Kremlin’s expectations, Ukrainians did not surrender but fought back hard. Their president, the former actor and TV star Volodymyr Zelenskiy addressed many parliaments and institutions, including the Council of Europe, the US Congress and the Israeli parliament.
Yesterday he talked to Danish MPs who listened to his speech in the Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen. The president started with the horrors Ukrainian citizens experienced because of the Russian attack. He especially highlighted the sufferings of the residents of the besieged and almost destroyed Mariupol. Zelenskiy talked about Russian war crimes and stressed the EU should impose harsher sanctions against Moscow to stop the Kremlin’s war machine.
He accused Russians of looting, deporting people to Russia by force, raping women and underage girls.
He said the invaders had already taken more than 2,000 children to Russia.
“Sanctions against Russia must be strengthened. Constantly. We need to give up Russian oil, we need to block trade with the Russian Federation, we need to close ports for Russian ships. And this must be the solidarity policy of the European Union, of all the member states” – he said. He praised Denmark as the country from where the basic principles of the European Union, the Copenhagen criteria come from.
Zelenskiy should stop complaining. Our Government already clearly stated our thoughts and prayers are with them, and we offer humanitarian aid to Ukrainians crossing the border. What else do they expect from us?
Tibor, exactly. Zelensky likes to throw shade on anything bad Ukraine does. They loved accepting Hungarian land from Stalin but won’t return it.
Ukraine was born thanks to the communists. All stolen territories from surrounding countries. It’s time to get back those territories to the original owners.
It is surprising that between begging weapons and complaining about the supply from the west, Zelensky still has time to insult Hungary. Zelensky should concentrate on making peace. Holding unto territories that are inhabited by ethnic Russians and do not want to stay in Ukraine should be allowed to leave. If forced to stay, the inhabitants of these areas will be rebelling constantly, there never be peace in Ukraine. So Zelensky, work on a peace treaty before the whole country of Ukraine is destroyed. Ukraine does not have resources to rebuild the already destroyed cities.
