Emmy 2018: Hollywood actress speaks Hungarian! – VIDEO
Alex Borstein, Hollywood actress, won the Best Supporting Actress Emmy, as hvg.hu reports. In her acceptance speech, she thanked her mother in Hungarian, as fans and viewers could hear.

Alex Borstein, actress and voice actress is best known for personifying – and giving a voice – to Lois Griffin in Family Guy, for which she has formerly received another Emmy. Her mother is Hungarian, who was brought up in Budapest but fled to the United States following the 1956 Hungarian revolution.
She was born in Illinois, US, as a child of a Hungarian mother and an American father.
At the 70th Emmy Awards, she won the Best Supporting Actress prize for her performance in ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’, a popular comedy series. She walked up to the stage to say thanks in her acceptance speech and then a very unexpected thing happened:
The actress started to speak in Hungarian during her acceptance speech!
She thanked her mother for being there for her, saying ‘Anyukám, nagyon szeretlek!’ (Mom, I love you so much!) so that everyone could hear it in the world.

Other nominees for the prize were nominees Zazie Beetz (Atlanta), Aidy Bryant (Saturday Night Live), Betty Gilpin (GLOW), Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), Laurie Metcalf (Roseanne) and Megan Mullally (Will & Grace).
The comedy show was so successful this year that it won in almost every category that it was nominated in. Rachel Brosnahan leading actress, writer-director Amy Sherman-Palladino won awards for the show besides Borstein.
