Will 11 thousand rainbow-coloured flags await Hungarians in Munich today?
As we reported before, a petition started to rainbow colour the football stadium of Munich today protesting against the Hungarian homophobic law accepted last week by the parliament. The UEFA decided yesterday not to allow such action even though the city council of Munich backed it. It seems that some German cities would like to protest all the same, which provoked Hungarian reactions. Meanwhile, Hungarian fans travelling to Munich are afraid of provocation. Our summary below about the latest events in the issue.
According to szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu, provided the UEFA does not allow to rainbow colour the stadium in Munich, the stadiums of Frankfurt and Köln will do so. That is how they want to protest against the Hungarian homophobic law accepted last Tuesday.
The VP of Eintracht Frankfurt (a member of the Bundesliga) even called his colleagues to join their initiative. Based on Kicker magazine, there is a chance that Köln will do the same.
Interestingly, based on the relevant rules of the UEFA,
stadiums can be coloured only with the colours of the football association and the host country.
A counter-initiative started yesterday in Hungary. According to borsonline.hu, Gábor Kubatov, president of the Ferencváros and party director of Fidesz, decided yesterday to cover the Groupama Aréna in Budapest with the colours of the Hungarian national flag, red-white-green. He also asked other club presidents to join his initiative, and Tamás Deutch, the president of the MTK and MEP of Fidesz, cleared that he would join Kubatov.
Carpathian Brigade, one of the biggest Hungarian fan groups, said on their Facebook page that they expect provocation in Munich today. Therefore, they advised all the supporters to keep the German rules completely to avoid fines worth hundreds of EUR.
Based on index.hu, Budapest Pride told on their Facebook page that they would distribute
11 thousand rainbow-coloured flags with the help of local LGBTQ organisations in the stadium of Munich before the German-Hungarian match today.
According to MTI, European Commission Vice President Vera Jourova said after the meeting that the EC was looking into the Hungarian law to determine whether it breaches EU law. “Freedom of expression needs to be protected, and no one should be discriminated [against] based on sexual orientation,” she said.
If the Hungarian team wins today against Germany, they will emerge to the round of 16.

11,000 or 11 million flags will not change the Hungarian law against teaching children about moral bankrupt lifestyles Let our children grow up and decide for themselves as adults. This is just another feeble attempt to shove the LBTQ agenda in everyones face. Moral degeneracy may be popular amongst the people of some countries but just because it is popular does not make it acceptable to most of the people of Hungary.
“shove the LGBTQ agenda in everyones face”
Reception globally – of Law passed 15th June 2021 – continues to tarnish and deface – cause damage and embarrassment – to the brand name Hungary.
Reported in media Tuesday – that (13) thirteen member countries of the European Union signed a statement that is an objection or disagreement of the Hungarian Government law and position it is taking against the members of society who are or support the LGBTQ movement.
This is another sign to Hungary – the perilous position it is in going forward as a member of the European Union, and to a degree is “on notice” to follow the LAWS – of European Membership or suffer the consequences.
Hungary – must find a middle ground and ALL players be able to play and function on a Level Playing Field – and not under a Dictatorial attitude lacking in vision, the Functionality – of the 21st century – that is the agenda of the present “blinded” Government in Hungary.
Hungary – we continue to split, divide, fragment and stigmatize – by this Governments agenda not just the citizens of Hungary but Europe and the Wider World.
What allies will we – that have CREDITABILITY – will we be left with if this agenda by the present Government is permitted to continue ???
National Elections – May 2022 – the power granted to people under the Laws of Democracy – to VOTE – and we MUST vote – use our voice our power – our right to vote – for what we see – is the Future of Hungary.
Why do these people want to expose children to sodomy propaganda? Hungary is right to take a stand against the grooming of children. I can’t understand why other countries refuse to protect the most vulnerable part of society (children) from homosexual propaganda. I also can’t understand why the NGOs and activists want to target children with homosexual indoctrination. It is not right!
As a German I am really embarrassed by the behavior of the authorities here. I wish the best for the Hungarian team & would not mind at all seeing them win today!
An article on EURACTIV “Discrimination in Germany of LGBT is higher than the European average”.
I watched the game on televison and I think I saw 5 rainbow flags.
I will have to reconsider my relationship with Hungary. The friendly and kind country has become a homophobic and Nazi society, controlled by a dictator, which, with its intolerant laws, returns Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia and Muslim countries back fifty years. I do not want to support such a country as a tourist.
Patrose- maybe you should check what going on in the US the major center for all LGBS and what is happenening in it institutions- just last week a professor at one of the largest medical schools apologized for calling a man a man and not his pro nouns. The VP I study you refer to her by her pronouns. Children as young as 5 are being programed with this BS. By the same forces that are behind the EU issue. I suggest you read Douglas Murray’s latest book- as a gay man and one of the most intelligent men in the planet can explain it better than anyone the insanity that is going on just like his book – The Slow Death of Europe – explains what happening in Europe. I’m surprised the EU has not asking Facebook and Twitter deplatform Hungary just like they did the Arizona state senate this week. Mention its a LGBT issue and they will jump right on it.
They have more power than anything the EU could do.
