Family Min: Current Hungarian family policy at stake in 2022 election
Popular support for the government’s family policies is far broader than the ruling party’s core voter base, and whether these policies continue or not will be at stake in next spring’s general election, Katalin Novák, the minister for families, said on Friday.
Talking to university students in Szeged, in southern Hungary, Novák said a consensus in Hungary had emerged on the importance of supporting families.
“There’s no doubt that young people must be helped so they can have as many children as they want whenever they want,” she said at the event held in a local café.
Novák referred to the government’s home-creation scheme, its creche programme aimed at helping couples achieve a work-life balance, and the income tax holiday for mothers with four children and people under the age of 25, noting that 3,500-3,600 billion forints (€ 9.5-9.8 billion) are earmarked for Hungarian families in the 2022 budget, or 6.2 percent of GDP, as against the 2.55 percent OECD average.

It was in the country’s interest, she added, for the government to represent “national Christian values” and family values.
The opposition, she said, was mulling abolishing the flat tax system, and this would place an additional burden on families.
The minister also drew attention to international recognition of Hungarian family policy measures, saying this was based on quantifiable results. The desire to have children, the number of marriages, and the employment of women has increased in Hungary more than anywhere else, she said.

Katalin Novák is right.
The election is very important.
Never before but this time it is Fidesz for Hungarian families.
This is the same woman minister who said that Hu women should be happy with a future where they’ll be confined to the kitchen and the alcove. Cook and make children, she said. How nice. Hungarian women should never vote for the caveman’s party this primitive person belongs to.
It is a disgraceful, sexist attack of a strong Hungarian woman who holds a very important job while she and her husband, István are raising three children. How could the far-left, anti-family, anti-children lies get so far from reality?
Like a massive bribe. Churn out four kids and no tax to pay. For modern day society this is pitiful to read. This country is going backwards. Basically it’s know your place little lady, now get in the kitchen and cook my dinner.
Well Mario, many women do want children which must be a shock to you. However, that is a reality. Of course women should be free to make their decisions, but women and men who want to have children should be able to.
Secondly, low birth rates often will lead to an increase in retirement age or lack of social services due to the lack of a labour pool. While Western countries have turned to immigration to support their social system, countries like Hungary have chosen to increase support for families. The increase in immigration in countries like France and Sweden has to lead to the breakdown of social cohesion. We can see the rise of the far-right and Islamist attacks in those countries.
I should mention the increase in immigration is not always bad as long as there are policies for integration and support. Canada for example has accepted many immigrations, but Canada also has strict rules and guidelines. This cannot be the same for countries like Sweden (which has now lead to an increase in crime in the country due to the lack of integration and social support).
Thus one can say Hungary has picked a reasonable path.
We want more Hungarian children, not illegal migrancs from the Middle-East and Africa.
Magyarország a magyaroké!
So, women will be paid to have children. The more you have the more money you’ll get. Of course this’ll mean domestic violence and abuse of children will be on the rise too. In this world it’s inevitable. The children will be placed in foster care and/or orphanages, then what happens…. Not sure the government’s thought of that.
So much election bribes and I get nothing because I am not in the right sector….that’s why I will vote for the opposition in the coming election. At least they could have lowered the 27% affa, and bribe everyone but NO.
I was told not to post Hungarian text because most of the people posting here don’t understand Hungarians, they are not Hungarians.
I have to disappoint these people because come election time, it will be the Hungarians who will vote and decide who will lead Hungary after the election.
Another disappointment for these Soros paid foreigners is that the current government will stay in power because that is what the majority of Hungarians want.
Me too anonymous.
