Hungary, Italy agree to expand defence cooperation
Hungary and Italy on Monday signed a declaration of intent on expanding their cooperation in defence.
Hungarian and Italian defence ministers Tibor Benkő and Lorenzo Guerini told a joint press conference that their cooperation was just as important in times of peace as it was now during the war between Russia and Ukraine. Benkő and Guerini both firmly condemned the Russian invasion, underlining the importance of ending the war through talks as quickly as possible.
Guerini thanked Hungary for the care it was providing for refugees who have been forced to leave their homes.
Benkő said the expansion of cooperation between Italy and Hungary was a guarantee of peace and security in Europe.
