Important and positive figures from the Hungarian Ministry of Finance
Hungary’s cash flow-based budget, excluding local councils, posted a surplus of 54.4 billion forints (EUR 140.3m) at the end of January, the finance ministry said on Thursday, citing preliminary data.
The central budget had a deficit of 37.4 billion forints. Separate state funds were 41.6 billion in the black and the social insurance funds had a 50.2 billion forint surplus.
The ministry noted that expenditures related to the household utility price caps came to 181.3 billion forints by the end of January, 8.3 billion more than last year.
European Union transfers reached 226.0 billion forints, over 191 billion more than last January.
Spending on pensions reached 475.6 billion forints and on health care 196.9 billion forints.
Hungarian finance ministry noted that the budget had ensured resources for a 6 percent pension rise as well as the continuation of the household utility price caps and family subsidies.
“The government aims to strengthen growth this year, while continuing to reduce budget deficit and state debt levels,” it added.
As we wrote earlier, the Hungarian finance minister said, we need to think about the introduction of the euro, details HERE.

“Positive figures” – until (and why would you not, as a Sovereign nation and a proud Politician) strip out the “European Union transfers”…
https://www.statista.com/chart/18794/net-contributors-to-eu-budget/
We are a TAKER. Most of our “contributions” consist of anti-“Brussels”, “EU Bureaucrat” and “Liberal Elite” name calling.
Our Politicians are happy enough to collect the cash though – euphemistically calling it “funding” and “transfers” (to which we are obviously totally entitled). Question. If your neighbor engaged in the same behaviour, what would you call them?
The desk of Mihaly Varga – Minister of Finance, of the Hungarian Government, a LONG history of VEILING truth, making statements predictions, that have no substance of Truth & Fact “aligned” to them, that are just totally of FABRICATION.
Norberts – commentary, paragraph one:
” strip out the European Funding.”
Varga, who DOES he think he Fools ?
Brussels, for starters, watches Mihaly Varga – with a MASSIVE telescope for starters knowing his DNA for disclosure of Economic & Financial reporting are QUESTIONABLE plus.
Yep its all in the PROPAGANDA game of the Orban / Fidesz Government, that continues to DISGRACE them, as a Political Party, and a Government, but the name Hungary, just continuously gets BATTERED – HUMILATED – Disgraced, through individuals like Mihaly Varga not speaking acting with Candour.
It’s a disease from the top down in this present Hungarian Government.
Are we NOT factually seeing witnessing the massively growing PRESSURIZATION on the Prime Minister- Victor Orban, that in great part, what “others” – principally the European Union are waiting answers – have they NOT come about because, like Orban & Varga, this Government, this Political Party have never, never WILL practice Candour.
“Rubbery Figures” again, from the desk of the Finance Minister of Hungary – Mihaly Varga.
Sounds like a cash condom… expands as needed but then a pinhole and everything spills out… Or perhaps that leak is from OV taking to big a bite?
