New Hungarian dog breed recognised: here is the Sinka! – VIDEO

The new Hungarian dog breed, the Sinka, received official recognition yesterday. The World Cynologic Hunting Sports Alliance has classified this new breed among shepherd dogs. However, the Sinka is notably faster and more muscular than the well-known Puli.

The Sinka breed was developed in Hortobágy (Hungarian Great Plains) from a mix of already mixed dogs, including Boyers, German Shepherds, and dogs with ‘bull’ in their names.

In 2019, their number was below 2,000. This low number was advantageous for shepherds as it kept the breed relatively unpopular and less favoured by non-shepherds. The Sinka is a robust and hardworking breed that is affectionate towards humans. It shares similarities with the well-known Kuvasz, Vizsla and Puli.
