Persecuted Christians can rely on Hungary
“Our persecuted Christian brothers and sisters can rely on Hungary,” the state secretary for aiding persecuted Christians said on Facebook on Friday on the occasion of the International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief.
Tristan Azbej said that the persecution of Christians was not decreasing around the world, citing cases in Congo, Nigeria and Syria. Hungary is offering help through its scheme dubbed Hungary Helps in each case, he added.
He said that beyond granting donations, projects and support, Hungary was also offering help through personal visits.
“This year we managed to visit people in Nigeria who live in a zone where Boko Haram actively operates, as well as Christians living in minority in Pakistan,” he said.
In a post to the video, he said that starting from September, Hungary was again enabling hundred Christians from crisis areas to study at Hungarian universities”
