A first in Hungary: Military adventure park opens in Budapest!

Hungary’s very first military-themed adventure park, the Kincsem Defence Park, officially opened on Friday in Budapest’s 10th district, on Fehér Street. Visitors had the chance to try out the attractions together with the trainers and competitors of Kiképzés, the popular Hungarian military and sports reality show.
The country’s first defence adventure park
At the opening ceremony, project manager Marcell Bartók highlighted that the Hungarian Defence Forces are continuously developing—not only by acquiring new equipment but also by seeking new ways to connect with society. The new adventure park is designed to showcase the army in an engaging and interactive way.
He noted that while Budapest already has an indoor military experience centre at the Bálna Defence Hub, the newly opened Kincsem Defence Park provides an outdoor alternative. Spread across 20 stations, the park offers a wide range of military simulations for both children and adults.

Special section for children
The six-hectare area was provided by Kincsem Park, and construction of the adventure park was completed in just over three-quarters of a year. According to Bartók, the facility was designed to entertain all age groups. A dedicated children’s section allows kids as young as four or five to enjoy a military-themed playground, test their skills with Nerf guns, or try out the buggy track and obstacle courses.
The park also features a Gripen fighter jet simulator and a variety of virtual reality experiences that let visitors explore the equipment of the Hungarian Defence Forces. For older guests, a military arena offers challenges such as drone flying.
Bartók emphasised that all activities in the park are simulations, and only Nerf or airsoft weapons are used.

Activities for all ages
The park’s activities include airsoft shooting, building and bunker combat scenarios, a tactical zipline, drone course, dune buggies, obstacle tracks, and rope descents.
The park was symbolically opened with a ceremonial shot fired by Captain Kristóf Oravecz, one of the trainers.
