Come and visit the international art meet at Budapest Contemporary 2025

The Budapest Contemporary exhibition and fair (BCT) is back, eagerly awaited by Hungary’s contemporary art scene all year round. Galleries and artists will meet the public for the third time at the end of September in Budapest.
Budapest Contemporary, a modern art showcase
This year, BCT will be held in a larger space than ever before, welcoming thousands of visitors with international exhibitors, guided tours, and special programs.
Budapest Contemporary burst onto the scene three years ago and immediately became one of the capital’s most important art events.

It proved that there is a huge demand for an event where galleries can present their latest collections and where professionals, collectors, and the general public can meet.
The organizers of Art and Antique, with a seven-year history, and the two-year-old Füred Art Week are bringing the four-day Budapest Contemporary back to the Hungarian capital.
“This year, the event will occupy a larger space than ever before. Nearly 40 exhibitors will present thousands of artworks at their stands, including not only paintings but also sculptures, design pieces, and other treasures.
Interest in BCT is growing not only in Hungary but also abroad, so several prestigious European galleries will be joining this year,” said chief organizer Ádám Tausz.
“The 2025 BCT will truly be diverse and will showcase the full spectrum of contemporary art from the perspectives of collectors, artists, galleries, museums, and even higher education. This year, MOME will also have its own stand, while the Ferenczy Museum of Szentendre will offer a preview of its programs.
Visitors will also be able to see part of private collector Attila Vizi’s collection. Members of the Association of Hungarian Contemporary Galleries will be present with their own stands, as well as a joint stand hosting works by their international artists,” Tausz highlighted.

A key direction of development is the stronger representation of design, which is why this year the POV design conference will also participate as a partner.
This year’s BCT will place special emphasis on Hungarian and international women artists, who are increasingly shaping the direction of the contemporary art scene.
A special highlight will be the Márton Szipál corner, paying tribute to Hollywood’s beloved Hungarian photographer through a selection of his striking works.
During the exhibition and fair, held between September 25–28, daily guided tours and children’s workshops will take place, while Bentley will showcase its latest car models to the public.
