Hungary launches rescue flights from the Middle East, Wizz Air steps up service, Flydubai restarts flights

Flights able to transport 90 passengers each will fly from Amman to Hungary on Wednesday and Thursday, aiming to bring home Hungarians stranded in the Middle East, the minister of foreign affairs and trade said on Tuesday, adding that Jordan was accessible via two land border crossings from Israel. Wizz Air also steps up flights to and from Egypt and Flydubai will fly to Hungary, as well.

More Wizz Air flights, Hungarians may come home

Speaking on the Truth Hour podcast, Péter Szijjártó said there were many Hungarians in Israel, who could leave the country either towards Jordan, or through a 24-hour border crossing to Egypt.

Wizz Air is stepping up its service to and from Sharm-al-Sheik to ten flights a week from the current three to transport the Hungarians arriving there, Szijjártó said.

Air traffic partially resumes in UAE

Air traffic has partially restarted from the United Arab Emirates, with Flydubai flying to Hungary on Tuesday afternoon, Péter Szijjártó, the minister of foreign affairs and trade, said on Facebook on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Iran continued wide-spread attacks against the Gulf countries overnight; drones were deployed against the US embassy in Riyadh, he said.
