The Ukrainian border guards seized a Hungarian citizen with the help of the country’s security service. They charged him with the attempt to smuggle out conscripts from the country that was invaded by Russia on 24th February.

15 thousand dollars was the cost of freedom for conscripts

According to KárpátHír, the 37-year-old man wanted to smuggle out three conscripts by giving them Hungarian passports. He would have crossed the border with a BMW in Újlak. Each paid 15 thousand dollars to him for the “service.”

The court of Nagyszőlős has ordered his pre-trial detention for 60 days. However,

for 149 thousand hryvnia (4,600 EUR), he can be released on his own recognizance.

However, provided the court finds him guilty, he might be sentenced to 3-5 years in prison.

Even the former Ukrainian prosecutor general tried to escape to Hungary

The three conscripts were not the only ones who tried to escape from the war-stricken country. Former Ukrainian public prosecutor Ruslan Rjabosapka also tried to get away from Ukraine through Transcarpathia. However, he only reached the Hungarian-Ukrainian border. Authorities caught him and did not allow him to cross the border.

He showed a photocopied document to the border guards saying that he had three children, who were French citizens.

However, he was not allowed the leave Ukraine. The senior officer present at the border station said to Rjabosapka that he could not cross because no kids accompanied him. Furthermore, he could not authentically prove that he raised three children.

18-year-old tried to escape in an ambulance car

Men between 18 and 60 are becoming more creative when it comes to fleeing Ukraine, where they would have been obliged to fight against the Russian invaders. An 18-year-old tried to get away in an ambulance car. Local news outlets say that

his mother planned out the desperate act

with the help of two of her acquaintances.

Based on the original story, her son broke his leg, so he had to be transferred to an EU hospital. However, it became clear to the border guards that the young man was not injured. The woman and her companions were arrested at a non-identified border crossing.

Currently, they are waiting whether the court will sentence them to pre-trial detention or not.

The young man was transferred to a local military service office. The army seized the ambulance car.

A couple of days ago, some men tried to get away from the country by wearing women’s clothes.
