A 16-year-old Hungarian boy stabbed a police officer in a settlement in Fejér county yesterday evening, the Central Chief Prosecution Office of Investigation told MTI.
According to telex.hu, the officer went to a block of flats because the foster father of a 16-year-old girl asked for help. When the officer arrived, the girl was about to leave with her 16-year-old boyfriend. The policeman asked for their IDs on the staircase, but the boy chose to flee.
The officer used physical restraints, but the boy resisted. He tried to punch and kick the officer off, even while lying on the ground. When the officer started to handcuff him, the attacker suddenly stabbed him with a 9-cm-long knife. Thankfully, he was only able to pierce his shin.
Finally, an off-duty officer came to help his colleague who lived on the block.
The officer suffered injuries healing within eight days. The Budapest police headquarters began an investigation against the 16-year-old boy for armed physical violence and attempted serious bodily injury. He has been taken into custody.
