All the beaches in Hungary you can enjoy without an immunity certificate
The summer season is right here, the weather, compared to a few weeks back, is sunny and hot in Hungary, and it is the perfect time to go to Lake Balaton and get yourself cooled off in the water or while sitting at the beach and having some Hungarian street food like lángos and some delicious beer at your disposal.
You can and should totally do that, but unfortunately, there is just one issue: the coronavirus. Unfortunately, since early March 2020, you cannot really talk about doing your normal things without mentioning the pandemic that struck the world unprepared. Luckily, since last year, vaccines have been developed and used effectively, and now people who have been vaccinated can do almost the same things as before the pandemic, thanks to the immunity certificate.
But there are several reasons why people are unable to get the mentioned certificate.
If you do not know what it is, you can browse all of our articles about it HERE, but if you do and you do not have one, this article is just for you.
As we previously reported, since the beginning of May, Hungary’s thermal baths and spas have gradually started to reopen, but you will most certainly need an immunity certificate to enter. However, one of the unique things about Lake Balaton, and some other places in Hungary, are the free beaches.
Some of those beaches are literally free while others may have an entry fee, but the latter are usually more developed and might be more tourist-friendly.
The good thing about them, though, is that they are in the open. This means that you can visit them without an immunity certificate of any kind, reports Index.

The only thing limited is the number of people that can enter, as the current epidemiological rule allows one person per every 10 m2, and it is still advised to keep 1.5 metres of distance between guests.
On most beaches, the catering units also have terraces, or they serve takeaway food, so you can also easily access them without any card whatsoever.
Thanks to Hellovidék, who made an all-encompassing list, you can easily browse among a plethora of beaches, all throughout Hungary, which you can visit without the Hungarian immunity certificate. You can find the list at the end of THIS article.
If you are planning to travel to Hungary, you might want to wait until July 1st, as the unified European immunity certificate will be mandatory for every European (and probably Schengen) country.
Unless you are from one of the countries Hungary has a bilateral agreement with, you can only enter Hungary by proving with coronavirus tests that you are not infected. You can find the list of the 16 countries HERE.
