A bipartisan delegation from the United States Congress was received at the Hungarian Parliament on Monday by Foreign Minister Anita Orbán, with talks focusing on defence and economic cooperation.
In a post on her Facebook page, Orbán underscored that “Hungary and the United States are bound by a close alliance, shared values, and common strategic interests. The foundation of our cooperation lies in our NATO membership, our security partnership, and our strong economic and technological ties.”
The meeting, which was also attended by István Kapitány, Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, and Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, Minister of Defence, centred primarily on strengthening defence cooperation, deepening partnership within NATO, and exploring opportunities to expand defence investment and economic links, the Foreign Minister said.
“Our aim is to ensure that the results of this cooperation not only reinforce relations between our two countries, but also bring tangible benefits to the Hungarian people — whether through more secure energy supplies, new investments and jobs, or advanced technological and defence collaboration,” Orbán concluded.
