BKK Centre for Budapest Transport would like to kindly request both public transport passengers and other passengers using individual transport to not get about in the Hungarian capital in the upcoming weeks, as they have accustomed to, as several changes are expected due to the metro replacement works. BKK would like to kindly recommend that passengers use the BudapestGO app to plan their trips, which, among others, calculates the most appropriate route for passengers to reach their destinations based on real-time information on public transport lines and passengers have the chance to even purchase their tickets and passes in the app.

Te reconstruction works of metroline M3 began in the fall of 2017 on the Northern section. During the reconstruction works, the infrastructure of Hungary’s busiest railway line will be completely renovated and the stations will become state-of-the-art and barrier-free. The reconstruction works of metroline M3 will have been finished by the spring of 2023. In a little bit over half a year, service will be provided on the entire line on metroline M3, on the country’s busiest railway line. Please find further information on the reconstruction works of metroline M3 at BKK’s website.

WHEN – must be SOME idea – when will Ferenciek ter metro – under the eponymous ter/square – in downtown Budapest – my nearest metro station, closed getting on for 30 months – when will it AGAIN be part of the “infamous” tax burden to Hungarians, the M3 metro line ???
NEVER – since its closure near on 30 months – has it been part of the “stop/start” – operating procedures of this “infamous” tax burden to citizens metro.
Ferenciek ter metro – has REMAINED closed – for 30 months.
