Bookmaker expands network before start of horse racing season
Budapest, April 7 (MTI) – Some 650 million forints (EUR 2.1m) has been spent to expand Hungary’s network of shops that accept bets on horses before the start of the racing season, business daily Vilaggazdasag said today.
Across the country, 245 such shops now operate, including 50 in Budapest, the paper said. Thirty of the shops are state-licenced tobacco retailers.
The Hungarian Development Bank, which owns bookmaker Magyar Loversenyfogadast Szervezo, expects the business to become profitable by 2015.
