Anthony Mackie spotted filming his new series in Budapest’s iconic streets – VIDEO

The streets of Budapest are once again buzzing with world stars as the action series 12/12/12 is filming in the capital. The project is no small one, with two famous actors in the cast: Jamie Dornan, star of Fifty Shades of Grey, and Anthony Mackie, best known for his role as the Falcon/Captain America in the Marvel universe. Dornan has been in Budapest for a few days, while Mackie has just joined him as he commutes between London and Budapest for a new Marvel film.
The main location for the shoot is the square in front of the Basilica, where a Christmas atmosphere has been created with fake snow, festive decorations and a Christmas tree. The series revolves around a robbery and will probably take place during the Christmas period, as several scenes are filmed in a winterised environment. Filming is also taking place in the Andrássy Avenue area in the 6th district, where the streets are also dressed up in festive decorations, so you might run into a member of the crew while walking around.

According to Bors Online, Anthony Mackie was spotted on set by a TikTok user, which quickly went viral on social media. Jamie Dornan, however, has not yet appeared alongside Mackie, which may suggest that they are currently filming their scenes separately. Dornan was spotted in front of a building at Semmelweis University, so the crew are using several locations around the city; it’s worth keeping an open mind if you’re hunting for world stars.
Why Budapest?
Budapest is becoming an increasingly popular location for international film projects, and for good reason: the city’s architectural diversity, its historic streets and the favourable shooting conditions all contribute to the filmmakers’ desire to work here. In addition, Hungary’s film industry provides a strong professional backdrop, with world-class work by local crews and technical teams, which also makes the city attractive for big productions.
