Budapest, March 29 (MTI) – A spokesman for Budapest Airport said on Tuesday that commercial air traffic between Budapest and Brussels’ Zaventem Airport is still suspended and no official information is available from the Belgian colleagues on when it could resume.
Brussels Airlines suspended flights to Budapest after last week’s bombings in the Belgian capital.
Spokesman Mihály Hardy said there are currently no plans to resume flights between Budapest and Brussels on Wednesday, adding at the same time, that plans could still change.
Low-fare airlines Wizz Air and Ryanair, however, will continue to operate flights between the Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport and Brussels South Charleroi Airport as scheduled, he said.
Zaventem Airport CEO Arnaud Feist told Belgian public media that the airport could resume very limited services on Wednesday at the earliest. A series of tests indicated that the airport could relaunch about 20 percent of its services, he said.
