Budapest lights up Central European fashion once more!

Get ready: Budapest steals the spotlight in Central European fashion from 9–15 February 2026. The Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) showcases the freshest contemporary designs alongside Hungary’s designers’ bold, unique visions.
Budapest Central European Fashion Week in February
In its 17th edition, this powerhouse event features over 40 creators from Hungary and eight other nations unveiling their Autumn/Winter 2026–2027 collections. Organised by Creative Hungary, the fashion week builds on talent nurturing and regional collaborations to cement its status as the go-to hub for the area’s industry pros. Expect packed days of expert talks and happenings, with the star catwalk shows lighting up the Apolló Gallery and Hungarian Museum of Fine Arts from 13–15 February.

The AW26/27 season ramps up BCEFW’s global vibe, drawing designers from Czechia, Slovakia, Poland, Slovenia, Serbia, Armenia, Romania, and Ukraine. That means 17 international talents and 24 Hungarian stars, all presenting in diverse formats—from group showcases to solo spots—that supercharge brands’ visibility at home and abroad.
Prestige, global ties, creative edge
“We’ve moved beyond chasing trends; now we’re amplifying—and shaping—the voice of Central and Eastern Europe,” says Zsófia Jakab, CEO of Creative Hungary and ministerial commissioner for creative industries. “These partnerships bridge our nations. While Budapest gives neighbouring designers their moment in the sun, our partners abroad open doors for Hungarian creators to break into new markets and seal deals. BCEFW isn’t just a seasonal bash—it’s a smart investment in a thriving ecosystem that boosts prestige, forges global ties, and sharpens our creative edge. Fashion packs serious export punch and, as a top employer, steadies our economy too.”
Creative Hungary (formerly the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency) positions BCEFW to make Budapest more than a flashy pitstop on the fashion map. It aims for true heavyweight status with smart strategy, top-notch infrastructure, and a bold long-term vision. Alongside mature, market-proven brands, it champions emerging talents, offering a clear path from visibility to brand-building and international breakthroughs.
Collective shows, solo presentations, and full runway spectacles
Zsófia Jakab adds that Budapest’s fashion week has long been the region’s beacon of creativity and innovation. “We’re not just spotlighting top regional talents—we’re ensuring fashion stays ahead of cultural and economic shifts. Talent development is key, woven into AW26/27’s lineup: collective shows, solo presentations, and full runway spectacles create stepping stones for pros and next-gen stars alike. Backing them is investing in our creative future—they’re the industry’s lifeblood, treating sustainability as a given, not a chore. That’s why we’ve launched the NEW GENERATION INDIVIDUAL SHOW category: a solo stage for young brands ready to step beyond group formats and own their vision.”
